Rest,Relaxation and get Calcium at the same time
By Lillian Walker of Exit Beach Cities Realty
I recently learned that the optimal way for the body to absorb calcium is through our largest organ. That would be the skin. Because the skin does not involve any digestive process and the absorption of calcium magnesium through the skin is the best way to accomplish this since the elements absorb directly from the skin into the blood stream. Epsom Salts, which can be purchased at the drug store in containers that look much like a half gallon of milk have calcium magnesium and this provides an adequate amount of these necessary nutrients. A side benefit is if you have aching muscles as a result of an injury, overworking your body, general tiredness etc. this will relax the muscles while nourishing your body with much needed calcium magnesium. The reason why you need the magnesium component is that from a molecular stand point (sorry I was a Pre-med Bio major) it's difficult for your body to absorb calcium in it's pure form. When the molecules of Calcium and Magmesium are combined it creates a "softer" more absorbent (slippery) molecule that can penetrate the bodies tissues. It's a great habit for both men and women to take up, have a nice warm bath and add half a cup of Epsom Salts to your bath and just relax. Your skin feels great when you get out and it is truly relaxing. Another use for epsom salts is to add it to your plants to make them more green (the magnesium is what actually activates the green color). Lastly, it has also been touted as one of the super model's best kept secrets! FYI I purchase mine at RiteAid and CVS.
